Hoya Australis Lisa

£14.00

Hoya australis 'Lisa' is a compact, vining wax plant prized for its thick, glossy, heart-shaped leaves that often show attractive splotches or variegation. It produces clusters of small, star-shaped, fragrant flowers with a waxy appearance, typically in shades of white or pale pink with a contrasting corona. A relatively easy-care houseplant, 'Lisa' responds well to hanging baskets or a short trellis and makes a striking, low-maintenance addition to indoor plant collections.

Light

Bright, indirect light is ideal. Tolerates some morning or late afternoon sun; avoid harsh midday sun that can scorch leaves.

Water

Allow top 1–2 inches (2.5–5 cm) of soil to dry between waterings.

Humidity & Temperature

Prefers moderate to high humidity (50%+). Benefit from occasional misting or placement near a humidifier. Comfortable between 60–85°F (15–29°C). Protect from temperatures below 50°F (10°C).

Soil & Potting

Use a fast-draining mix: orchid bark or perlite blended with potting soil for good aeration.

Fertilizer

Feed with a balanced, diluted houseplant fertilizer during the growing season (spring–summer) every 4–6 weeks.

Pruning & Support

Provide a trellis or hanging basket—‘Lisa’ looks great trailing or climbing.

Flowering

Needs consistent care and adequate light to bloom. Allow some rest between waterings and avoid over-fertilizing to encourage flowers. Flowers form on old wood; avoid heavy pruning of older vines if you want blooms.

Toxicity

Mildly toxic to pets if ingested. Keep out of reach of cats and dogs.
