Fittonia Pink ‘Special’ — compact, low-growing houseplant prized for its striking foliage: deep green leaves with vivid pink veins. Ideal for terrariums, tabletops or shaded indoor spots, it thrives in bright, indirect light and prefers consistently moist, well-draining soil with high humidity.

Light

Bright, indirect light is best. Avoid direct afternoon sun, which can scorch leaves. Tolerates lower light but growth will slow and colors may fade.

Water

Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top 1–2 cm (½ inch) of soil begins to dry. Fittonia can be sensitive to both drought and overwatering — use a pot with drainage and empty the saucer after draining.

Humidity & Temperature

High humidity (60%+) preferred. Mist regularly, place on a pebble tray, or use a humidifier. Ideal temperature range: 65–80°F (18–27°C). Protect from drafts and sudden temperature drops below 60°F (15°C).

Soil & Potting

Use a well-draining, peat-based mix with added perlite or orchid bark to retain moisture without becoming soggy.

Fertilizing

Feed monthly during the growing season (spring through early fall) with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer (half-strength).
