Alocasia Zebrina 75cm
Alocasia zebrina is a striking tropical houseplant known for its glossy, arrowhead-shaped leaves and uniquely patterned petioles that resemble zebra stripes. Native to Southeast Asia, it prefers bright, indirect light, high humidity, and well-draining soil. It’s moderately fast-growing under ideal indoor conditions and makes an attractive focal plant.
Light
Bright, indirect light. Avoid direct midday sun (can scorch leaves). A spot near an east- or north-facing window or a few feet back from a south- or west-facing window is ideal.
Temperature & Humidity
Warm temperatures: 65–80°F (18–27°C). Keep above 60°F (16°C). High humidity preferred (60%+). Increase humidity with a humidifier, pebble tray, or group with other plants.
Watering
Keep soil consistently lightly moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feels dry.
Soil & Potting
Use a loose, airy, well-draining mix (aroid mix or potting soil amended with orchid bark, perlite, and peat/ coco coir).
Fertilizer
Feed with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Hold off or reduce feeding in fall and winter.
Toxicity
Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
Extra tips
Provide stable conditions—Alocasia zebrina dislikes sudden drafts, temperature swings, and frequent relocation.
