Crassula Ovata, commonly known as jade plant or money tree, is a popular succulent characterised by its thick, fleshy, oval-shaped leaves that are a deep green colour, often with a reddish tinge at the edges. This perennial plant typically grows to about 1-3 feet (30-90 cm) in height and can develop a tree-like structure over time. It is often associated with good luck and prosperity in various cultures.

Light

Bright light to full sun. Place near a south- or west-facing window; provide at least 4–6 hours of direct sun for compact, healthy growth.

Water

Water thoroughly, then let the soil dry out between waterings. In growing season (spring–fall) water every 2–3 weeks depending on conditions; reduce to once a month or less in winter.

Soil & potting

Use a fast-draining succulent/cactus mix or amend potting soil with perlite/grit. Choose a pot with drainage holes.

Temperature & humidity

Prefers 65–75°F (18–24°C) daytime, can tolerate down to ~50°F (10°C) but avoid frost. Low humidity is fine.

Fertilizer

Feed lightly during spring and summer with a balanced, diluted houseplant or cactus fertilizer (once a month). Do not overfertilize.
