Monstera Deliciosa Variegated Albo

£10.00

Monstera deliciosa variegata 'Albo' is a striking variegated form of the classic Swiss cheese plant, prized for its glossy green leaves marbled with irregular cream-to-white patches. Mature leaves develop dramatic fenestrations (natural splits and holes) and can grow large under bright, indirect light. The variegation is caused by a genetic mutation, so leaves may vary from mostly green with white streaks to almost entirely white—plants with more white require slightly more light and careful care because they produce less chlorophyll.

Light

The Monstera Deliciosa variegated albo prefers bright, indirect light. Too much direct sunlight can scorch its leaves, while insufficient light can hinder its growth and diminish the unique variegation that characterises this variety.

Watering

Water the plant when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Ensure that excess water can drain through the pot to avoid root rot. During the growing season (spring and summer), your Monstera may require more frequent watering. In the dormant period (autumn and winter), reduce watering accordingly.

Humidity

High humidity levels, ideally between 60-80%, are beneficial for the Thai Constellation. If your home has low humidity, consider using a humidifier or placing the pot on a tray filled with pebbles and water to increase moisture levels around the plant.

Temperature

Maintain a temperature range of 18-27°C (65-80°F). Avoid exposing the plant to temperatures below 10°C (50°F) as this can cause stress and damage to the plant.

Soil

A well-draining potting mix is essential. A blend of potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark will facilitate good drainage while providing the necessary nutrients.

Fertilisation

During the growing season, apply a balanced liquid fertiliser every month to encourage growth. In the dormant months, reduce or cease feeding, as the plant's nutrient requirements decrease.
