Fittonia Pink
Fittonia Pink
Fittonia Pink — also called the nerve plant — is a low-growing tropical houseplant prized for its striking pink veins against dark green leaves. Ideal for terrariums, tabletops, or as a groundcover in indoor container gardens. Its compact habit and vivid coloring make it an attractive, easy-care option for adding a pop of color indoors.
Light
Bright, indirect light is ideal. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch leaves.
Water
Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top 1/2 inch (1–1.5 cm) feels slightly dry. Fittonia dislikes long dry spells; it will wilt quickly but often recovers after watering. Use room-temperature water and ensure good drainage.
Humidity & Temperature
High humidity preferred (60%+). Mist regularly, place near a humidifier, or use a pebble tray with water. Ideal temperature: 65–80°F (18–27°C). Avoid drafts and temperatures below 60°F (15°C).
Soil & Potting
Use a well-draining, peat-based potting mix with added perlite or orchid bark.
Fertilizer
Feed with a balanced, water-soluble houseplant fertilizer at half strength every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring–summer). Hold back in fall and winter.
