Zamioculcas Zamiifolia

Zamioculcas Zamiifolia

from £10.00

The ZZ plant, scientifically known as Zamioculcas zamiifolia, is a hardy, evergreen perennial native to Eastern Africa. It is renowned for its glossy, dark green leaves and tolerance for low light conditions, making it a popular choice among houseplant enthusiasts.

Light

Tolerates a wide range — from low light to bright, indirect light. Avoid prolonged direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.

Water

Let the top few centimetres of soil dry out between waterings. Overwatering is the most common cause of problems (root rot). When in doubt, wait a little longer rather than watering immediately.

Temperature

Prefers 18–24°C. Can tolerate occasional cooler spells but must be kept above freezing; avoid prolonged exposure to temperatures below about 10°C.

Soil

Use a well-draining potting mix. A succulent or cactus mix, or a regular houseplant mix amended with perlite or grit, works well.

Humidity

Average indoor humidity is fine; higher humidity is tolerated but not required.
