Spathiphyllum Domino
Spathiphyllum Domino
Spathiphyllum 'Domino' — commonly called the Domino peace lily — is a compact, striking indoor plant prized for its bold variegated foliage. Its leaves are dark green with broad, irregular cream to white variegation that creates a high-contrast, contemporary look. 'Domino' typically reaches about 1–2 feet tall and wide, making it well suited to tabletops, shelves, or small floor displays. It produces occasional white spathes (flower-like bracts) similar to other peace lilies.
Light
Bright, indirect light is best. Tolerates lower light but will produce fewer flowers. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch leaves.
Water
Keep evenly moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feels dry. Reduce frequency in winter. Empty saucer after 30 minutes to prevent root rot.
Humidity & Temperature
Prefers 50–60% humidity. Mist occasionally or place on a pebble tray. Ideal temperature 65–80°F (18–27°C). Avoid drafts and temperatures below 60°F (15°C).
Soil & Potting
Use a well-draining, peat-based indoor potting mix. Repot every 2–3 years or when root-bound, choosing a pot 1–2 inches larger.
Fertilizer
Feed with a balanced, water-soluble houseplant fertilizer at half strength every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring–summer). Skip feeding in winter.
Pruning & Grooming
Remove yellow or brown leaves at the base. Cut spent flower stalks down to the crown.
Toxicity
Toxic to pets and humans if ingested—keep out of reach.
