Gynura 10cm
Gynura 10cm
Native to Asia and commonly called Purple Passion for its soft, velvety purple leaves. Compact and eye-catching, ideal for small shelves or windowsills.
Light
Bright, indirect light. Avoid direct midday sun, which can scorch leaves; a north- or east-facing window is ideal.
Water
Keep soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top 1 inch (2.5 cm) of soil feels dry. Reduce watering in winter.
Humidity & Temperature
Prefers moderate to high humidity. Average home temperatures 65–75°F (18–24°C). Avoid drafts and temperatures below 60°F (15°C).
Soil & Potting
Use a well-draining potting mix with peat or coco coir and perlite. Repot every 12–18 months if rootbound.
Fertilizer
Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring–summer). Stop or reduce feeding in fall/winter.
Toxicity
Leaves can be mildly irritating if ingested; keep away from pets and children.
